Medium Duty Tension Tester Accessories
"Medium Duty Fixing Testers - enabling engineers to confirm the holding power of anchors in most construction materials"
Reaction Load Spreading
To test fixings correctly, the reaction loads must be taken into the structure well away from the fixing. In brickwork, this can be achieved using either the 150 load spreading bridge, the 250 load spreading bridge, or pyramid stool. Prescribed reaction distances are given for concrete in BS 5080. Method of tests for structural fixings in concrete and masonry pt.1 1993 Tensile Loads - tests to ultimate loads, while the more practical requirements of the Construction Fixings Association - guidance note: Procedure for site testing construction fixings covers proof loads as well.
Load Spreading Pyramid Tool
- Off set mounting of tester gives closest edge distance 100mm
- Braced tripod withstands full 25kN load
- Pulling adaptor accepts all tester accessories
- M16 legs offer 140mm Height adjustment
- Mounting holes for tester
- Large handwheels on legs for easy adjustment
- Locking nuts to maintain height adjustment
- 50mm dia feet minimise bearing pressure
- Swivel feet compensate for uneven surfaces
- Support to fixing distance = 160mm, meeting the spacing requirements of BS 5080 for ultimate load testing of fixings with hole diameters up to 20mm and embedment depths up to 80mm.
The CFA Guidance Note requirements for proof test loads up to 1.5x. Manufacturers recommend tensile loads are satisfied for embedment depths up to 212mm - ie. most drilled fixings:
