Choosing the right pull test adaptor ensures you test each one correctly.<\/p>\n<p>Hydrajaws provides a range of testers and adaptors to test just about anything.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Testers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Most pull testing engineers will have a Hydrajaws M2000 which will cope with anything up to 25kN. The M2008 is a heavy-duty tester that will test up to 145kN. You choose the adaptor to fit the fixing you are testing. This chart shows some of the main fixings and the adaptor to use for each:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-838\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-adaptorchart.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"616\" height=\"471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-adaptorchart.jpeg 616w, https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-adaptorchart-312x239.jpeg 312w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 616px) 100vw, 616px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Set them up as follows:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The M12 locking adaptor<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/product\/m12-locking-adaptor\/\">M12 Locking Adaptor<\/a> fits into the tester and allows various adaptors to fit into the tester (e.g., the bolt adaptor).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The bolt test adaptor<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For M16 nuts, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/product\/bolt-test-adaptor\/\">bolt tester adaptor<\/a> (a) directly engages the nut (b) in the pulling jaw.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-846\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-bolttest.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"440\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-bolttest.jpeg 440w, https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-bolttest-312x152.jpeg 312w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The slotted button adaptor<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For testing fixings where a connection is made underneath the head of the fixing or anchor the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/product\/slotted-button-adaptors\/\">slotted button adaptor<\/a> is used. The slotted button adaptor (a) slots into the bolt tester adaptor (b) and engages the fixing (c). The threaded button adaptor (a) threads onto the fixing (c) and then slots into the bolt tester adaptor (b). Please note when using the M2050 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/product\/heavy-duty-threaded-button-adaptors\/\">heavy-duty threaded button adaptors<\/a> must be used.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-862\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-threadadaptor.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-threadadaptor.jpeg 332w, https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-threadadaptor-312x234.jpeg 312w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 332px) 100vw, 332px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The clevis adaptor<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/product\/m12-ringbolt-clevis-adaptors\/\">Clevis adaptor<\/a> for testing ringbolts. Remove the cross-pin from the clevis adaptor and offer the tester and bridge to engage the eye of the anchor in the clevis. Push the clevis pin through the clevis and eyebolt, ensuring that the ball on the pin clicks into place, having passed through the second fork.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-870\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-ringboltadaptor.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-ringboltadaptor.jpeg 620w, https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-ringboltadaptor-312x122.jpeg 312w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Threaded stud adaptors<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/product\/threaded-stud-adaptors\/\">Threaded stud adaptors<\/a> are suitable for testing sleeve and stud anchors. Screw a suitable threaded rod (a) into the anchor, then fit the adaptor (b).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-878\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-threaded-stud-adap.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"434\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-threaded-stud-adap.jpeg 434w, https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/news-threaded-stud-adap-312x168.jpeg 312w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 434px) 100vw, 434px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Threaded rod adaptors<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The M5 and M6 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydrajaws.co.uk\/product\/threaded-rod-adaptors\/\">threaded rod adaptors<\/a> are equipped with an external M12 thread for use in conjunction with the M12 threaded button adaptor. The M8 and M10 threaded rod adaptors have an M16 external thread.
